howdy yall
so after being away from consitent internet use for the last year has kept me from posting or even browsing this site very often but now after a long time looking i have finnaly settled on what will now be my home farm.
i have moved to a great 80 acre farm surrounded by lake ontario on three sides and a 300 + acre conservation area on the other.
over the last year i have been slowly growing a highland cattle fold and now have 1 bull 4 cows and 3 calfs as well as 16 ewes and one ram. i had built my chicken flock upto 60 or so birds but one evening a couple of weeks ago a couple dogs from 3 km down the road found their way to my place and killed 38 of my birds (luckily tthe owners were cool about it and paid me replacement costs as well as a bit for lost income while i am growing my flock back up.
tommorow as my xmas gift to my self i am picking up 2 piglets to add to the barn yard.
its been great to catch up with some of your journals and see all the new members too! maybe we are onto something here.
