OK, which ever way you spell it....how do YOU make it? I remember my grandmother used to make her own, but it was sooo sweet!! :sick I am wanting to make some this summer...not alot because we dont use much, but I would have a base for BBQ sauce. How do you can it? I am guessing pint jars? I am trying to get my folder ready for next years canning....filled with recipes I want to try. And, for the BBQ sauces....can you premake them and can them as well?

Ketchup.
I roast tomatoes on my outdoor grill. Put them through a Berarducci Squeezo which removes skins, seeds and the remaining small amount of excess water. Tomatoes are fairly thick because the grill dehydrates them.
I add some finely ground in the food processor sundried tomatoes and salt, onion juice, vinegar and canned. Turns out thick with natural sweetness, a bit of smokiness from the grilled tomatoes.

My first try with ketchup was to boil down to nothing and it tasted like canned tomato soup. I like this better.

Canned what? I like this recipe, but I think you missed something.

I must admit, ketchup is my vice. I have eliminated all HFCS from my house, but can't seem to give up ketchup.

I canned it in jars for future use. Sorry, I have my own version of shorthand and simply love action verbs. :D
