I really don't like Lamb. But, my husband does, so once and and while, I do fix it. Last night's dinner I tried to make "special" since he has not been having a fun time at work lately.

Here are a couple of photos of the Lamb dinner.

This is all "plated" up!

Those are garlic mashed potatoes, spinach with toasted almonds. one lamb chop, and a homemade roll. For Dessert was a slice of our favorite rum cake from a local restaurant.

The lamb had been marinating for two days. And even I found it to taste quite nice!

That looks good. I'm not a lamb person either, but I have one in the freezer. DH likes it and I trying to. It's just so gamey to me.

This was a really young lamb. Very tiny chops. And I marinaded it in a combination of Balsamic Vinegar, Brown Sugar, some VERY nice red wine, garlic, Rosmary, Sage and Thyme. For over 48 hours.

Ya' know, I am forming a theory on goat/sheep meat and cheeses.

Maybe it is heat that causes the gamey flavor. Raw goat milk doesn't taste at all gamey. But, I have had pasturized goat milk that is very gamey tasting.

One of my friends that keeps goats, said she one day decided to use goat milk in a soup recipe, and when she bent over the pot, and smelled it after adding the goat milk...

Raw goat and sheep cheeses do not seem to have the same, "after taste" that the pasturized types do.

When I re-heat lamb, it seems to always have a more gamey flavor than it did the first time I served it. And I serve it still pretty pink in the middle. Med. rare to rare. I cook little "roasts" like the one pictured, for about 18 minutes, after searing it on both sides in a very hot pan, just enough to seal in the juices.

I REALLY HATE GAMEY MEAT!!

Looks delicious! Personally I prefer mutton to lamb but it is so hard to find.

I love lamb, and only buy a few pieces when I see them on the clearance rack at Safeway. with Mint Jelly - yummmmm

Very very nice presentation, I must say. Looks like a restaurant for sure!
