I want to build up some beds for flowers and vegetables in our back yard and to make them out of landscaping boards. I want them to last for as long as possible. What types have others used and how long have they lasted?

Are you making boxes or what? I am confused I guess, sorry. We have veggie boxes that we built out of pressure treated boards. We also have posts that we attached our fence to for our green beans to grow up.

I'm making beds for flowers and perhaps a few small sweet pepper vines. We lay out the landscaping timbers in a rectangle and nail them deep into the soil. We lay more landscaping timbers on top and keep building and adding soil until we have the right height. I made it about six timbers high last year and will add a few more this year to get a higher height.

I did this some 6 years ago using these landscape timbers , but if I could go back and re-do it I would have used those concete landcrape bricks - for they will last far longer than those landscape timbers . Have a feeling in the future that I'll have to replace them any way ...of course I wasn't thinking about down the road when I did this ...MB
