I sent her some homemade "taggie" blankets for the baby. My kids loved them and now they have been given new life as baby doll blankets. I didn't take pictures of the ones I sent her but one was white flannel with pink polka dots and the tags were made from black and white striped ribbons. The other was a cute purpley pink with different animals on it that I backed with fleece and did different colored ribbons all over the edges.
I love using flannel and fleece for baby stuff cause it is so soft and cuddly! If she gets some time maybe she'll post a pic!
