Make your own soda

Freemotion had a link to some videos she had posted and one of them was how to make your own soda. Can anyone help me find this link? I've been searching and searching and I can't find it anywhere.

They are on youtube. making soda is easy, but now that I have water kefir grains, I just have tha instead of soda.

We're having a really hard time letting it go. I thought I could make some and it would help us let it go. I watched her video and made some about a month or so later (this past Sunday)

I'm pretty sure I did something wrong LOL It didn't turn out at all and I can't find her on youtube and I can't find the link.

My friend has an amazing ginger beer recipe. I don't even LIKE ginger beer, but this stuff is amazing!

I'll keep reminding her to post the recipe. Her husband has a ginger beer "plant" that he uses, and he was going to try a batch with lime juice to see how the flavors go.

I can have a case last me about 6 months. but it wasn't always like that. although we never drank alot of it, the kids are allowed one on the weekend, (still, at 13 and 15), and I will have an odd one. I started making my own soda with champagne yeast, but then got water kefir grains. You put the grains in sweetened water, it ferments which causes the bubbly fizziness, and then you flavour it however you want. Grape, pommegranate, lemon, and ginger are our favourites. When I made soda, cream soda was our favourite, but I havne't tried tht with the water kefir.

Some batches come out better than others....if the room temp is low, it won't work as fast. Wait until the bottle is tight....almost scary tight!

Thank you Free! I used to much yeast. I was pretty sure that was at least one of the problems, thank goodness that seems to be the only problem LOL.

I'm off to try again!
