I'm going to break down and purchase a miter saw. I have had the coping saw but never got around to getting a miter saw of my own. When I've needed one, I just borrowed my neighbor's saw. He has now moved, so it's too inconvenient to find another one. My wife says she'll pay for it for my early birthday present.

I have a Dewalt. Rock solid. Not matter what one you get take the blade that comes with it and leave it in the dumpster as you leave the store and buy a high quality blade. If price is a conern try copoutlets.com

My next choice (after Dewalt) is Ryobi, Tthey make a 10" sliding miter saw for about $199 plus or minus.

The Ryobi on the flat will cut a 12" board.

Good luck

I have a Dewalt too and I'm very happy with it. I got it for Christmas a few years ago and I've really put it to the test. Also, I agree with Saco that you're going to want to get a better blade.

Don't you just love Dewalt anything? My wife used to tease me and call me Mr. Dewalt. Those were the days when I was building out my shop and my wish list was a mile long. I guess it beats calling me by a few other names I could think of.
