"Eat More Fat, Just Make Sure It's The Right Kind"

unfortunately, their idea of the "right kind" of fat is from, you guessed it, corn and soy...

now, if researchers can actually prove that eating more corn and soy oil will somehow reduce my risk of heart attack, then i say "great! sign me up for the heart attack." because my standard of living NOT eating corn and soy is pretty f****** good and i'm not about to switch to eating that crap again.

man, i wonder who is funding this research?

ok, i'm a little relieved to read some of the comments on NPR's FB page in regards to that article. SO many people saying it's wrong!!! so many people talking about GMOs and frakenfoods and Monsanto!!! it's a bit heartening.

I've heard Monsatan ads on our local NPR station....about how they are working on developing sustainable farming practices that lower the demand for fossil fuels and other such drivel. This may explain why they would feature that carp. Everyone has a price, so they say.....

I heard that ad, too, and nearly choked!! When Monsanto starts tossing around the word "sustainable," well it just doesn't have much meaning left.

I am heartily disappointed in NPR. I had thought better of them.

First "organic" is stripped of actual meaning. Now "sustainable" is being taken over. :(

They will take over whatever term gives someone else a marketing edge against them.
