I decided to start this, to track little backyard successes and so I dont start 1.357 millions posts for questions that could go in here!

Name: Brianna; aka Bri, Brizzy, Squeeze, Bug, or really whatever you want. I respond to anything. However I am particular about the way you pronounce it. Bree-Ahh-Nuhhh.

Birthday: June 4th, 1990

Hometown: Santa Barbara, really sucky. I live in a very beautiful town, that is outrageously expensive. Been rated most expensive city in America several times...why did I move back?!

Current Residence: Same place.

Relationship Status: Engaged!

Political Views: Uhm, well I am one of those open minded people, so I have no problem saying "neutral".

Religious Views: Why go there? I dont judge, unless you are absolutely insane and very, very clouded or following a trend because its popular. I have bounced around and hated, but I finally found what I believer in and what my soul/heart believes in.

Activities: Pets. I work at a Pet Store and am one of those insane employees who brings work home with them, literally!

Interests: See above. I am also a music fanatic, I am ALWAYS making a song or lyric reference. My coworker who is just as music insane gets songs stuck easily in her head, so its bad if I get talking to her. I love art, and religion which go hand in hand. I take religion/bible study classes AND art history, the complete series.

Favorite Music: So much. So very very much. I will listen to anything, whether I like it depends. Ok wait, I hate Jack Johnson.

Favorite TV Shows: Criminal Minds, Law & Order series, NCIS original, get the picture? One time I had a customer come up, I noticed she worker in a crime lab and she was amazed that I have been the only person ever to figure it out! I watch enough tv, I should lol.

Favorite Movies: I dont watch movies :( Girl, Interrupted is my most watched movie.

Favorite Books: I am a book hoard, it is a very bad problem. But, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest! I am really into a very specific area of psychology, I could never be a psychologist because I am just as crazy. But that book satisfied a part of me.

I added two new animals to my "farm" today, two male rats, unneutered. We had a female rat come in months ago and give birth, 3 females and 4 males. We won the case on getting them put on the floor as pets, but 2 never sold so they were sent to the back and slated for snake food. This was in June. We kept secretly bringing in large feeder rats so they wouldn't be sold. We ran out this week. I knew I had a nice covered patio and my rats old HUGE rat cage (we upgraded to a bigger one for my other 3) soo....I took them. I havent set up their big cage, it needs a nest box and toys, so they are in a small hamster cage until Tuesday. I am excited, these will be my outside rats! They can help me with chores in the morning and I have a couple juvenile fruit trees they can have supervised play in. I know they might get a disease or parasite, but its part of being an outdoor animal.

Now they need names. All my rats are named after guns; Winchester, Colt and Ruger (Winnie, Colton and Rue), my coworker came up with Romeo for one. The best gun I could come up with is Remington, but the other guy? Will have to think for awhile.

Ill try and get my niece to take pictures, BB cameras really stink :( They are soooo stinky! Chris and I decided to look into getting them neutered, the reason they get stinky is they are constantly marking each other/themselves...think goats. YUCK. Last night I walked in the door and Chris asked me if "they really had to go outside", apparently he has fallen in love with them.

Btw, my SO/fiance is Chris :)

I got nothing done today, my friend came and was being mean (if you get my drift) and I was nursing Jaxon, my 7 month old labrador, back to health. Yesterday my mom picked him up from daycare, and his face was swollen beyond recognition. She said she opened the door, a door came past her and she kept looking for Jax, then she finally realized that DOG was Jax! She tried taking the tennis balls out of his mouth, but it was just his cheeks that were THAT swollen. His eyes were swollen shut and he was COVERED in hives. She took him to the vet right away, they said he was stung by a bee and this was the worst case they have ever seen.

He is officially allergic to bees, his reactions will keep getting worse, and can not be left outside alone, ever, can not be off leash on hikes, etc. He is only 7 months, and this was his second sting, we are SO SO SO lucky that he didnt swell more and stop breathing.

Here are two pics, btw hes normally a very fine, chisel faced American Labrador:

Oh my GOSH! That poor baby! Be carefull with those bee stings. Is he catching them in his mouth and getting stung inside.?? I had a neighbor once that hat a rotty, he would catch bees, and get stung inside his mouth, ALOT! He looked just like that. The vet told her it was only a matter of time till he got stung and it closed his airways. THATS scary!!

Jax is doing better, swelling is down, weaning off steroids...we have to carry an epi pen with him now. It will be noted on his Diogi and Microchip files, as well as having a special ID tag on him. He went to advanced dog class on wednesday, slightly out of it, went to novice yesterday (hes in between both, so we get free novice classes) and had an accident in front of everyone :( Labs are so bashful about bathroom stuff too, poor baby.

We had a gloom here; Wednesday night I was getting out of my staff meeting and I could tell something was wrong with Chris so I rushed home. He told me his grandfather was in a coma, and would be dying in the next couple of hours. I had only ever met this man once, I think? So I was able to do the phone calls and inform family. The next morning I sent out the text that he had died about an hour after my calls :(

Then my mom came over and told me that our dog class friend/Jaxs "grown up puppy" friend went in for neuter and stomach-wall stapling, and was diagnosed with hip displaysia in BOTH hips :hit His owner was crying and crying apparently, and my mom and I started crying. Its so sad, its a Cane Corso and he and Jax are the star puppies, this is just devastating.

My only SS thing lately:

Today I was selling a hamster, and the little brother already had that cute "youre an awesome adult" attitude towards me, which some kids come in and do that with us lol. Then THEN he asked me if he could use his chicken bedding for his hamster, which was a quick no then we started talking all things chickens. We gabbed on and on as I was ringing them up and at the end as they were leaving his mom apologized and said he was just all about chickens! He also had call ducks and asked me if I had roosters...what an awesome kid. I hope he goes into 4-H, I hope he comes back in and sees me, I hope we can talk more breeds next time :)

My black lab won't poop in front of anybody. He goes behind a tree or a bush where he "thinks" we can't see him. Aren't they silly? Glad Jax is doing better!
