About 8 years ago I purchased the home I grew up in from my mom... and it hasn't changed much in 40 years.

I finally stated making some progress and had the main bathroom remodeled. Before and after pics:

Hey @Nifty, I like your remodel. I was wondering if the new flooring in the bathroom is wood, wood laminate or vinyl or wood-look ceramic? Or??
I see you have successfully blended the greys and the taupe/tans together. :thumbsup Looks great!

They are really nice ceramic tiles that look like wood planks. I love the look, but realizing I'm not a fan of the super hard / cold floor. Linoleum looks cheap, but it feels much nicer.

Well, thanks! I'm actually very terrible at aesthetics, so I must have gotten lucky!

Wow, I'm impressed! Good work and the colours are beautiful, really good compinations. Is that wooden flooring? Looks beautiful.

Well, you have recreated the lavish ambience under your own roof, by adding all gentle perks of your personal taste and imagination that can conjure.

That was a really good result for your remodeling. I think all of us sometimes focus more on aesthetics rather than functions lol

I found this blog and made me feel great on my remodeling also. This is a common mistake on remodeling :) https://www.forbes.com/sites/tarama...g-mistakes-that-homeowners-make/#7b473dd0109b
