Okay, I just mentioned in another thread that I don't watch much TV but on a vacation in November, I kept finding NCIS marathons on TV in hotel rooms. I really enjoyed all those shows and the cast is incredible and I think they chose the perfect actors and actresses.

Anyone else watch? My favorite scene is the one between Ducky's mother and Abby.. and Ducky. When the mother "meets" Burt. :D

I've started watching it when my wife does, and I like it. I think it's a great ensemble cast.

I also think it's neat that they have the guy from Man From UNCLE... I guess that's Ducky, right?

David McCallum, yes... his name is Donald Mallard on the show... thus the "Ducky." :) If you figure out how Gibbs (Mark Harmon) isn't climbing walls with all that Starbucks, let me know!

David McCallum has always been very very cool. Back on UNCLE Robert Vaughn (Napoleon Solo) was the James Bond type character, but Illya (McCallum) was not only European cool, he was EASTERN European cool, which was totally unheard of back then;)

Speaking of the show, I've heard that Mark Harmon actually does woodworking and the tools he uses as props when he's working on that boat are his own personal tools from home.

That would be most excellent if that's the case. It's nice to learn that highly paid actors enjoy working with their hands by crafting wood like the rest of us. They probably derive the same joy from it we do.

Well how cool is that! I think that everyone needs relaxation time no matter what their career is, and woodworking is one that can be totally relaxing... to watch something being created that was totally different before.

That's why I'd like to learn how to crochet, too, but no one's interested in taking me on as a student.

Katharina, have you either Googled video lessons crochet or maybe taken a look over at the trusty old YouTube. My husband swears by YouTube for instructional vids of all sorts, he's learned a lot of guitar tricks there.

Hmmm... well my first thought was that I don't think seeing a video would be as helpful as having a teacher in the room BUT I'd sure be less embarrassed about having to "back up" if I didn't get something the first time. Just play the vid over.

Hey, that's a great idea, heretoday.... thank you! :D

You are most assuredly welcome, Katharina. :) I continue to be amazed and happily surprised with the wealth of information and instruction that's available on the net. I've found lots of automotive instructions, both vids and diagrams, and plenty of advice as well.
