Oh fantastic! Water heater leaked and flooded the floorboards! Can't wait to see how bad the damage is.

So, what's the verdict, @Nifty?

Did the unit leak or did the safety valve blow? There are bases for water heaters that will handle a water leak for a while.

Spouse always has complained the bringing water into a house is the worst thing Man ever did. . . just asking for problems.

The unit leaked and needed to be swapped out. :(

I tore out a bunch of the soaked floor, replaced the boards, and installed the new water heater.

Red, I definitely agree with your hubby!

Hahahaha

Hahahaha, indeed! That's why we tore out a bathroom last week and intend to tear one out next week Water!

In the newest case, tenants didn't know how to use a shower curtain. The first week after they moved in, the flooring was trashed and they complained the basement ceiling was leaking. Go figure!

Installed heater and fresh water tank today _ works great

I have some detail work to neaten up, bur am very happy with the set up

Haha the leaking and water all over the home is a daily soap. After the renovation, everything is under control.
