Where are the snipers when we need them? I think it would be fun to shoot at those tiny round targets. But on the other hand, if these cameras are used in an honorable way without evil intent, this is a very good tool to be used in the war against terrorism. The UK is completely overrun with Muslims and the threat of terrorism there is very great.

I believe that most Muslims are peace loving people and that terrorists come from all walks of life.
It is kind of interesting that they'd want these cameras in a low crime little town, though. It is rather big brother-ish.

We have cameras all over downtown and on many stop lights - right now today.

The cameras are placed where they track cars AND people inside of almost every store. The cameras on the stop lights actually take your photo and then you get a picture of yourself in the mail along with a ticket! I know because a "certain hubby" ran a red light and got such a lovely picture card. :/

Welcome to the BIG city big brother. :tongue

I looked it up ... we have 33 Red Light cameras alone in this fine town.

There have been cameras all over the place in the UK, for many years now. I think the only thing new here is that they are tracking license plates.

We have the photo red light cameras too -- they take video (I know because hubby got a ticket in the mail after a friend borrowed our car). Big story in the news this week: Turns out the $400+ fines are "voluntary." The city has now voted to shut down the red-light camera system.

Most of these systems are owned by private firms who collect the revenue so they have every oppurtunity to mess with their victums and the pictures to increase their revenue. Pictures don't lie? BS it is easy to fake a picture.~gd
