What can we do with it!

If a dresser with drawers is broken, use the drawers.

Take out the drawers and put on casters and use under the bed. Roll in and out for storage.

what else can we do with an old dresser?

Now you got me thinking about that, I am sure we have found uses for broken dressers. As a matter of fact I know I have repurposed them.
I think I used one in a chicken pen one time, created a shelter and the chickens roosted on the slats that were in between the drawers. I took some of them out to make room for the chickens to roost. I only had a few chickens at the time.

Prior to having a garage, we had all the tools on shelves in the great room. Just looked swell
I picked up an old chest of drawers and moved most of the tools into that and then found a used wardrobe, same color, for the rest. Looked so much better and organized. I'd rather see shabby chic on a wall rather than garage clutter.

When the wife and I remodeled our basement, we added a half-bath. I took an old dresser with a mirror on the back, and cut out for a small sink. I took the top drawer out and removed the front, and remounted the drawer front back in place so it looked like the drawer was still there. That gave me enough room to run the plumbing for the sink and still be able to use the bottom drawers. It made a very cute vanity for the new half-bath. Oh ya, I had forgotten the sink was one that had fallen off someones truck and I found it in the middle of the street! It even had a faucet already mounted on it!! If you want, I will get you a picture of it.

If I have old dresser with defective, I will repair it. And then, I will paint it so that the normal looks will back. Through this, I don't need to buy a new dresser.
