Greetings to all. I am a new member here and am strictly an amateur in the woodworking realm. I have done some nice projects like a bathroom remodel in my Florida home, custom bookshelves, custom cabinets for industrial electronics, and various small projects. I have not attempted fine furniture, yet.
I do plan to visit here in the future, but my main reason for joining was to ask some questions about woodworking tools. I have a shop which is primarily oriented towards metal work and I have some ideas for improved tools that I could make and sell. So I am looking for what is essentially market research on this.
I recently saw a discussion about planes and the possible need for better flatness than the present manufacturers provide. I could easily improve the flatness of a plane and think this may be a nice product to pursue. So I am asking if this is a real need or was the person discussing this “problem” just being too picky? I would appreciate any and all opinions, both pro and amateur.
Thanks In Advance
