DH came home with rabbit that he bought from a coworker. Per his suggestion, we popped it in the crockpot for a few hours. Well, I guess we overcooked it because it turned to mush the minute I put it in my mouth. :sick Is that how rabbit is supposed to be, or did we indeed overcook it? Is there anything we can make with the rabbit to kind of cover up the texture? I hate to let it go to waste. Maybe we could put it in chili??

Sounds overcooked to me too. Mine does that when I make rabbit and dumplings. I always seem to boil it to long before I put the dumplings in. But it still taste good. Just no chucks of meat.

Spread yours out on a cookie sheet, pour on some BBQ sauce, bake in the oven for a few minutes (just until hot). Make pulled rabbit BBQ sandwiches.

If I accidentally destroy something by overcooking I strain off the broth and save that.

I recently killed a batch of chowder. The texture was awful but the flavor was excellent. I strained off the broth and added new meat and veggies to the saved broth. It was good :D
