a few years back i lost the use of one arm due to a motorcycle accident.
up until that time one of my favorite hobbies was pounding nails buiilding things.

i recently purchased a used palm nailer to get back to building.

my friend had one(same brand tool shop) that had a magnetic nail guide.
the one i got doesn't have the magnetic guide, leaving me the same place hammers did, no way to hold a nail to start it

so 2 questions

1 can the nail guide be magnitized and how?

or 2 are all palm nailers created equal, not quality wise but interchangability of parts wise? i've been unable to find anywhere to get parts for the brand i have and wondered if the magnitized guide from a senco or bostich or any other brand would fit and work

thanks in advance for any help on this matter

Not the answer to your specific question but a suggestion. One is a nail holding hammer. http://toolmonger.com/2009/06/02/olympia-tools-nail-holding-hammer/
This might work better for you.

If you are interested in the smaller finish nails, then perhaps a nail spinner would work. I have used one for years and is great when you don't want to drill a pilot hole and also want to be sure not to split the wood. Drive it in with a battery operated drill and then finish setting it with a hammer.
