Hey everyone, I'm new here. So I wanted to introduce myself. I'm female with a female "rescue "dog. Actually, she found me. Moved from Houston to Tulsa Oklahoma, had to leave my cat's and was grieving. (I was able to find them a wonderful home). Anyway, Maggie camped out on my door step in Feb. 2013. On second day, I took her in, tried to find an owner. In short, she is now the love of my life. Looking forward to reading post's and responding as appropriate. Love to all pet owners!

To all dog owner with with itching skin and hot spots. Gold Bond Rapid Relief was a miricale for Maggie. It soothed the hot spots and they were gone on day 3. However, i started using it right away, so her spots were not very bad. Hope this helps someone.

I am a pet lover too. My dog Bella disappeared one day. We had her for almost two years. She was spayed and a great friend. Now I have my sisters little chihuahua who had a baby after a couple of weeks. We didn't realize she was expecting until she went in labor. My son also picked up two stray mutts (both boys) and the first thing they did was kill one of my cockerels. I was not happy to say the least. We went from one dog to four with a couple of weeks time. I still miss my Bella so much though.

Hi Freda,

Welcome to SS! :welcome Nice to have you here.

What kind of dog do you have?

We are without a dog for the first time in 14+ years. We had to put our Rosie down a few weeks ago. It was sudden and we miss her so much. After some time, I'm sure we'll bring another home to live with us.

Welcome to SS Freda!
The best dog I have ever owned was a rescue. A white German Shepherd we named Bella. She picked us, in a way. We took her home for a trial day from the shelter, and she never left. Bella was fiercely independent and did everything on her own terms. She had been abused by men, so it took her a couple of years to really settle in. After a transitional period, she decided my father was her favorite person (who is not an animal lover!). Sadly, last year she passed away at 13. Our other dog Maverick (a black German Shepherd) mourned her for weeks, as we bought him as a puppy and Bella prided herself as a surrogate mother.

MoonShadow - sorry to hear of your loss. I know how difficult that can be. I hope you find another dog to love to honor the one you lost.

Welcome @Freda Smith we're a bunch of pet lovers too. We have 4 dogs, 2 Great Pyrenees and 1 Australian Shepherd, 1 black Lab/Great Dane mix.

@MoonShadows sorry you lost your pet. It really rips a hole in your heart, you can get a lot of family history wrapped up in a pet.

Welcome Freda! Another pet lover here! We've had several rescue schnauzers and are without one now for the first time in about 18 years. We do have Molly the Road Dog-large mix and Peanut Butter- small mix. Glad there are so many pet lovers here!
