Here are some of my pictures from the pauwau I attended this past weekend. The dancing, drumming, and singing was wonderful! The costumes were spectacular and we really enjoyed it. If you ever have a chance to attend one don't miss it!

Wonderful pics! Thanks for sharing. There is a local event here every year, but it is usually at a time when we don't have enough spare time to get to it and really enjoy ourselves.

I love the traditional dress. I also thought the guy looked a bit like a chicken. We have birds on the brain... Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for posting this...I've always wanted to go to one! One day I will.....I find them absolutely fascinating and beautiful. I've only ever seen them on TV but it must be soooooo much better in real life.

Those are some great pics. What tribe was hosting? We attend the local pow wows here(Chickasaw and Seminole), our kids dance Chickasaw traditional.

Its nice to see Native Americans returning to more traditional dress. I went to one of these about 30 years ago and was saddened by the costumes. Perhaps this reflects their own reawakening to their historical culture.
