Plans for cribs

I am going to be a grandfather soon and would like to build a crib. My budget is low, so I would like to find some plans for free.

What type of design are you after? A crib is a fairly complicated endeavor, not just from the large number of smaller parts, but also the mechanical parts, if you intend to be able to raise and lower the side. That opens up some safety issues as well. Would you be buying stock pieces for the railings or turning them on a lathe yourself?
