The hard freeze we had two weeks ago (three nights in a row at about 25) naturally killed my potato plants. They were probably a month away from harvest, so I decided to dump all five 5 gallon buckets today and see what would I lost. I had to be very careful with the photo to make sure you could see them all, and that they didn't over shadow the quarter that shows the comparative size. Please, no accolades. I need to remain humble.

Well- if that's a pie plate in the middle, those are some big potatoes. :)

A harvest is a harvest- I have been skunked more than once- my favorite were the onions that produced foot high green growth and not one bulb.

Next year seed potatoes?

I think they look fantastic! At least you got some... couldn't you call them 'new potatoes'? People pay extra for those at our grocery store :)

I am thinking of making them into fries.

Hey you know what, no worries. I discovered for the first time this year that nothing tastes better than a potato from your own garden.

I am gonna grow them in my apartment because now I can't go back to store bought.

Love the fries idea! :lau :lau

I would laugh at your potato harvest ... but then you didn't see mine this year!! I had just about the same harvest as you and planted LOTS and LOTS more potatoes! My sweet potato harvest was equally stunning. :idunno

There is always next year .... and the grocery store - Thank GOD! :D
