Help!

I need a large glass jar.
and what else? I want to make it a fruity-ish flavor can I do that thru the tea I choose?

Not really sure how to prepare....should I make the mix today?

I just use plain ole black tea bags. And it seems to make a fruity taste all on its own. Sometimes, when drinking it though, I will mix 1/2 and 1/2 with fruit juice. I'm using two 2-gallon pickle jars, but my first batch was a one quart jar--you just adjust to whatever size jar you are making. The bigger the jar the better though. Whatever you use though, get a jar with a big opening-- at least big enough to put a ladle in.

Good luck with your "scooby"! :p

You might like it plain, in that case, use an herbal/fruity tea to make it.

I don't, its a little too tart for me to drink straight. I've been mixing the brew with a variation of things, herbal teas, black tea, green tea, orange pekoe, fruit juice, water even.

If you add a little honey to a water/kombucha mix, it tastes like lemonade :D

LOL, I missed that! Kombucha mushroom, AKA scoby AKA mother AKA baby AKA jellyfish, lol!

That's it, I'm naming mine Shaggy. It is sort of shaggy at the bottom, lol!

Dace, add the flavorings at the end of the process. When your tea is finished, move it to another container and THEN play with flavorings. Free will have tons of ideas for you. I don't think you want to add anything but plain tea (organic if you can) during the making of your kombucha tea.

Now I want to name my scoby!!! I shall call him Squishy!!

FC, Dace is just wanting something tasty to mix her kombucha tea with when she gets her scoby (the slimy squiggly thing that makes it kombucha)

There's another thread on her somewhere with more details.
