I just figured out that those alcohol based waterless hand sanitizers are really good for removing sticky gooey messes! Takes tree sap of your hands in seconds, removes sticker gumm form anything...and I can almost bet it would remove gum for your kids hair! Not exactly a natural cleaner, but a good one. I am going to try it as a stain remover for laundry next and see how it does:>)
Magic in a bottle that stuff is...

Great tip Morel. Wonder if it will take that sticky stuff off of glass and plastic? You know, that last little sticky residue where the lable was that just never seems to disappear no matter what you use.

Wish I had some handy so I could try it. I think I feel a trip to the store coming on. LOL

Especially on picture frames; why do they have to put it on the gall part anyway? :rant

DH has discovered that the stuff works well to dry up poison ivy and other itchy rashes. We also use it like that anti-poison ivy product called Tecnu. Rub it all over any areas exposed to ivy, then rinse it off. Neither one of us has had a bad outbreak so far, and we live in a sea of Poison Ivy!

Wow, I have a ton of that stuff since I work in a nursing home we keep it on us. It seems like everyday i come home with a new bottle in my pocket. I use it to wash the kids up when we are in the truck.

To get tree sap off my hands. I always used peanut butter or butter. But then you have to use a good soap to get the oilyness off of your hands from the cleaner to get off the sap.

I always used WD40 on the horses to get tree sap off. I actually like the way it smells.

I tried using the hand sanitizer to get the sticky label off of a jar yesterday; didn't do much I'm afraid. So I went back to what I usually use, which is Citrasolve. Worked like a charm.
