Personally I think I would have to give up ham and bacon. And I am a get dirty, hate the city, don't mind tromping thru much of anything. But being slimed by several week old pig guts would probably be my total undoing.

yeah.. it was something.

from time to time over the winter, when we've had our drink on, we'd say to each other - "hey lets go check the pigs!"

then we'd stand in front of the freezer and laugh and laugh... we thought that was hilarious.

the best thing about my man being off work this summer is that HE has to tromp down the hill and take care of those stupid pigs. so this year - i like them MUCH better. i can see them from a distance getting all fat on the goat milk and eggs..... as far as the stink - we just tell each other its the smell of bacon not done yet

i got dibbs on the shootin' this year
;-)

actually the neighbors were VERY gracious... the mom is wonderful.

she just wanted to make sure i wa ok ....and said that 'those pigs must really have been in trouble'

and left it at that. i was very grateful for her lovingkindness. and since then i've tried very hard not to swear like a drunken sailor at the top of my lungs.
