Today at the farmer's market, one vendor had bundles of sassafras root for $4. I didn't get any because I didn't know what it was used for other than tea. Did a little reading up on it tonight and I'm thinking about getting it next week as another item to have on hand for digestive distress.

Does anyone use it regularly or have any thoughts to share on what you've experienced?

I was thinking of digging some this fall from my meager supply on the edge of my woods to make the root beer recipe in Nourishing Traditions. I love the smell of sassafras.

Yummy, that sounds so good! I think I'll have to get some just to try it!

Yep - it's probably really good for you, so the FDA steps in and bans it. I'm going to gather some leaves in August to grind into file (where's that symbol when you need it?)

Hey- if we're not supposed to be talking politics, what's these political ads doing popping up here?

Yup, if it's liable to be banned in any way, that means it's the good stuff and you should get as much as possible.
