OK, so here is my question...I have "mutt ducks" There are black cayuga, peking, and Khaki Kambells running together. I hatched out a few dozen... well, they are still hatching as I type this. I had a friend ask me today....if I would raise them for her, to butcher size, and how much would I charge her? I told her I have no idea...I dont want to over charge, but I dont want to get taken advantage of either. I have checked CL...no full size ducks for sale...unless they are pairs, and they run between 40 and 60 dollars! CRAZY! So, what would you all do?? I was thinking 20 each? Oh, and she wants me to help her butcher them as well. :/

Well when I was figuring my expenses on selling some ducks, I sold them for 30 apiece. I got them free and free ranged them part of the time, but I spent that much easily on their duck food. They were PB cayuga, but your expenses could not be less.

Regarding butchering, that took us WAAAAAY too much time to not charge extra. I'd figure out how much time you would take to butcher, pay yourself an hourly wage, and figure out how much you spent raising the ducks. Then add at least 5 dollars to that amount for your trouble.

When I sold my cayuga for 30 apiece, I thought I was coming out ahead nicely, that it paid for at least one bag of food for the other ducks, possibly two.
