I am only posting this because there's nobody around the house/town who I can burble excitedly to who'd understand.

Tomorrow I drive about two hours each way to pick up my new Shetlands -- a yearling ram, and a ewe with newly wethered lamb.

After which, a couple miles 'around the corner' from there, I am picking up a buncha poultry (12 speckled sussex chicks to inject new male blood into my pen as current rooster is wonderful but a bit of a dud, plus 6 partridge chantecler chicks, plus 4 beltsville small white turkey poults, plus 4 narragansett turkey poults). Uh, plus a pair of goslings for my neighbor.

:D

This afternoon I really gotta get the electric wire run on the chainlink paddock the shetlands will be in. And right now, rather than playing on the computer I *should* be re-cleaning and setting up the brooder downstairs.

Hopefully the sheep will all be as they've been represented to me and transaction will go smoothly, and all the critters will settle in well once I've got them home. It's going to be a bit busy for a while, though!

Ok, burble finished; we now return you to your regularly scheduled Actual Forum Discussions :p

You have to get a picture for us of your mobile barnyard! :D

I hope all the animals settle in nicely for you. Sounds like you will have quite a day!

Where is that green with envy smilie when you need it?

Sounds like an adventure and lots of fun.

Don't forget the pics.

So Pat you going to transport all these animals in a mini van? I am very excited for you. Talk about keeping buys. I can't wait to see the pictures.

I'm figuring ewe-plus-lamb in wire dog crate in back of stationwagon, ram in another wire dog crate in back seat, and poultry in boxes in front seat. It is going to be a loud and interestingly-scented trip back home :p

Pat, are you picking up from PP? I can't remember if you said you were getting chicks from him this year, if you are feel free to drop in :) Or at least drive by LOL.

We don't get our chicks and ducks until June 4th, and our new goatie baby isn't for another 11 weeks.

Haha don't worry, it'll all work! We had a full grown, and ENORMOUS Newfie Dog in the back of our Ford Focus! We had our seats down and he had full reign of the back of the car. We got some very strange looks going along the highway. Same with the goats in the dog crate on the back seat of our truck, I had the window down and whenever we stopped at lights they'd Maaaaaaa at people outside hahaha.
