Asked a group (don't ask) about the possibility of putting together a DVD seminar so that those unable to book them, such as those overseas, can still go through it.
Response?
We refuse to promote watching films (their right, no big deal) so we refuse to record our seminars and require families to have to buy a DVD player.

Ummmmmm. Ever heard of sticking one in your computer?

Still debating whether or not to reply...

Its a "religious" idea that all films are evil, so owning a DVD player is inviting sin into the home.
The seminar has nothing to do with this.
The seminar is a homeschooling and time management thing. Super good from what I hear, but it sounds like I will never get to hear the whole thing.

Some books have ideas and themes in them that might be contrary to their beliefs. Does that make all books bad???

Sounds like someone is on a power trip or has a bad case of cranial/rectal inversion!

You know, maybe they quite legitimately are NOT aware you can play a dvd in your computer.

I wasn't (til now), although I suppose if I had been nudged in the right direction I might've figured out since I do know you can play a cd that way.

Not everyone is equally tech-savvy.

Perhaps if you just politely pointed this possibility out to them?

If people shouldn't own a dvd player, internet is WAAAAAY more evil.

I mean, you can type in "bible study" and get porn.

Actually they run a computer business and teach IT classes and do computer repair and rebuilding.
I did point it out and said I was sorry that they felt that way.
