What can you do with spoiled milk? I don't want to just toss it. I really don't want to make soap either, but will if it is the only option. It has a lot of cream on top if that even matters. With all the craziness this past week I did not get around to making my butter with the cream :( Any uses? I know my grandma would say use it like buttermilk, but I have a WHOLE GALLON, and it is just started to spoil...slight icky smell to it. I know you all HAVE to know SOMETHING it can be used for.. :hu

i just give it to my chickens :) maybe not an entire gallon at once, but, over the course of a few days, depending on how many chickens there are.

I think my mom made pancakes or waffles whenever she had spoiled milk....if you can use it like buttermilk, can you freeze some of it?

Do you grow pumpkins? My FIL swears by milk-fed pumpkins. He apparently grew some really huge ones when my husband was younger.

I am going to try it for fertilizer!! I had forgotten you could do that! I have a lot of the whey left over, well...some of the fat and such didn't seperate out, so I may use it to water some of my veggies. Well...just thought...maybe next batch, I used vinegar to seperate the curds and whey, so not sure if I should put that on any plants. Anybody know about that? Phooey! I'll have more later though :D

Depends on whether the milk has been pasteurized or not.

Raw milk turns to buttermilk when it goes off. Usable for cheese, butter, etc. In fact, makes the BEST tasting cheese - I deliberately let my goat milk sit on the counter for two days before making cheese, because it tastes so much better that way.

Pasteurized milk goes nasty. Can be used in cooking, doesn't taste good for cheese, not sure how it would work for butter. Works fine for animal feed.

This is raw Jersey milk. It made good "farmer" type cheese :) I plan on having lasagna tonight :D
