Has anyone ever opened an OLD rotten egg that was inside your house. One of the kids just dropped an egg that they evidently found outside. It broke on the kitchen floor. The kids were putting fish sticks on a tray for supper and we smelled that smell and though they had the gas stove on without a flame. Freak out time. DW goes running in the kitchen and finds a broken egg with green stuff and foam. GROSS. It's been 20 minutes and the smell is still horrible. Incense is helping though. Now we have to throw away all the eggs in the fridge.

Two of our kids live together while they are going to college. Maybe I'll give the eggs to them. If my son cracked an egg like that in to the skillet he would never fry another egg. Sometimes I feel so evil.

I found a very old egg in my hay storage area when I cleaned it this past spring. Who knows how old it was or how it got there....probably one of the guineas laid one on a hay bale and it rolled off the stack and down under the pallets, miraculously not breaking.

Anyhoo, I decided to throw it as far into the woods as I could.

The whole area near the barn, in the barn, behind the barn, in the pasture.....stunk for at least 3-4 weeks!!! :sick Iffy eggs now are carefully bagged and wrapped and bagged again and wrapped again and sent to the dump!

Found some of those while cleaning the barn today :sick

Whats worse is when we find a hen sitting on 20-30 eggs, and they're piled DEEP, yet you can't get the hen off without getting killed and you don't know which is bad and which is good. And when the hen is rearranging everything - BOOM. We had such a nest right on the otherside of our milk stand. :sick
