yup, Nicole did the choke on me and scared the rest of my hair grey!

stupid Starburst candy.....those little packs....popped one in her mouth, walked into her tv room, then came flying back choking a minute later.

talk about heart attack time....yikes

well she finally choked out a big partially chewed up piece, then finally a smaller piece.....I was one step from hitting the 911 number.

I am promptly going thru her "giant" tub of candy and throwing out all the "might be" chokers lol I am not going thru this again....I already weeded thru the candy and ditched what seemed like chokers and nasty but now I am going thru again lol

anyone else having candy nightmares?

Yikes!

I'm sitting at my desk trying not to raid the big candy bowl at work. Eat your apple and drink your water Nichole...

Ps. I have never met another person with "Nicole" as a first name. :D Lots of middle names though.

 Scary! How old is she?

I bought just enough candy for the neighbor kids (5) and a few pieces for myself and my fiance. My son spent Halloween with his dad. So NO candy here! (Yay!)

That's one of the scariest things that can happen to a parent. I've practiced the Heimlich maneuver and the holding the kid upside down thing, hundreds of times. I don't ever want to have to do it for real.

Worst that happened to us is when our diabetic daughter had a sugar drop and had a seizure. Our 2 boys said she fell off her dresser, hit her head and started choking. We saw she was seizing and thought it was because she hit her head. The seizure lasted 25 minutes, scared the heck out of us. Called 911.

We live in the country so we take the kids to a well to do part of Castle Rock. They always get a good haul. Then we have to put up with wrappers and kids sneaking candy for the next week. We always put all their candy in 2 big bowls. Then we ration it out as much as possible. They always manage to sneak some. A lot finds it's way in the trash too. No gum in this house. In the trash it goes.

I had a friend in high school that struggled with weight - so did her little sister. Her mom took all the chocolate candy and froze it for later.

*I* always ate my candy by the day after Halloween. I'd stay up late reading and eating candy. Starting with the Reese's and eventually, finally the Smarties and peanut butter Mary Jane's. Y'know the sticky things in orange and dark brown wrappers.
