Is there such a thing? I promise I tried the search feature here and got nothing :/

Hoping y'all can help - really wanna make another apple butter pumpkin pie, and the evap milk is all I'm missing. Well, gonna have to substitute walnuts for pecans, too, but that'll be alright, just not QUITE as good

hee heehee i was just about to look up the same thing! when i made my pie i used sweetened condensed milk, 2 eggs, and no extra sugar in the filling for that recipe. and the spices of course!

now i'm on the hunt for just a plain punkin pie... and i dont have any evaporated milk either so i might just use cream

:)

Let me know what ya find. Sadly, I don't have sweetened condensed on hand either (but I KNOW I've seen a sub for that one somewhere on the great web of worldwide info). I do have 1/2 & 1/2 - think that might work? (We've got one store that the STORE BRAND actually comes in 1/2 gallons, and that's how I buy it. Can't even find a national brand that does that. What? I like a little coffee with my sugar and creamer, thank you ;))

check it out:

she used cream! you could probably use half and half, but i'd use another egg (one more than the recipe). but heck, there's no such thing as bad pie... might as well give it a go!

the one i did was AWESOME! really custardy and delish. i had extra filling once the pie pan was full so i poured it into a buttered dish and had just baked custard. when it was still hot i had some with vanilla ice cream and it was AMAZING.

the pie is really beautiful

whoooot!

Yummmmmm.....

Seems like this thread is about healthier options....so.....check the label on your half 'n' half. It is usually a chemical soup nowadays. Used to be cream and milk, I think. Better to buy cream, even UHT, imo. Tastier, too. :drool

I'm craving chocolate pudding pie....
