Yup--I have to say this---I LOVE TAX TIME

I know most don't...but I do...LOL----Tony claims only 1. Then I know I get back the nice check each year. I wouldn't do my taxes any other way ever. AND I LOVE
E-FILE! :)

my acct. called and said I am getting back over $6K this year.

I am thrilled beyond thrilled.

SO--$250 to each of us to spend as we want. Big blow....LOL
I am buying a metal detector. I wanted one for soooo long and doing it. Tony, who knows what he will "waste" his on...hahaha

Rest in the bank. Saving for new truck. Got a long way to go for good down payment...ugh

Anyone else make out wonderful at tax time?

We usually get back a decent return but we are at the point that we are just trying to break even. I'm tired of the government having my money to make interest on and they still can't pay their bills!

It is nice to just drop everything off at the accountant and let him take care of it. With the farm, there is no way I would try and do that myself.

Although, the other way to look at it (to the extent that your income is predictable enough to be able to avoid underwithholding and its associated penalties) is that you COULD have had that $6k *plus interest*, but have generously donated the interest to our fine gov't for their wise use ;)

Have fun with your metal detector though, that sounds like it would be neat to have,

Pat

I try to reduce what I lend to the gov, but I do make sure we get something back, too. It really stinks to owe. For me, that stinks more than the free loan. We pay quarterlies on time, and whatever comes back usually goes right into the savings account towards the next quarterly. Ahhh, self-employment!

I would never bank 6K on my own. I know me. Works best for me this way.
I am in heaven...LOL

I can't wait to buy that metal detector. I have been wanting one for over 5 years now and decided it was time. I take so many camping trips now that I want to find some treasure on the beaches! :) I got high hopes..LOL

I run S-Corps so we are always paying taxes on what is in the bank at the end of the year. :he :barnie

On the personal side, I never get anything back, I pay in extra every week in order not to pay a huge tax bill this time of year. I also pay taxes on investments so Uncle Sam is getting plenty from me.

My business remains bail-out free... :) however if uncle wants to kick this small business owner a few 100k of that bailout money. I'd take it and build a bigger shop, buy more American made equipment, and I'd invest back into my local community.
