I usually put the old whale carcass in the compost pile, but I decided to see if Zoop and the Chickens would like to have a go at it.

He appears to really like it,

but then I know he has always liked melons

He is a California Desert Tortise. He has been a pet all his life. My brother got him when one of his clients died. They figured the tortoise was 60 to 80 years old then... back in 1989. So.. he is getting up there in age. I keep waiting for him to just not come out of his den in the Spring time. I am not sure how long they live.
