They surprised a family with a dad that was severely hurt in Iraq.
If it were not so hot, I would volunteer to help!

yes actually! They have been in the area for a couple days already, doing fundraisers for the unnamed family.
I had no idea til I got up behind them though. Had to look up the schedule when I got home.

i love watching extreem home makeover...
what they do for these people is amazing...
but what i dont get is these folks are often struggling to make ends meet in the first place...
then the extreem team comes along and Quadruples or more their property value...
how are these folks supposed ot be able to afford the extra taxes? the extra costs to run heat and cooling ect.
it always just makes me ponder.
right now im looking to buy a small home because i can afford a small home. part of my math includes what i can afford to heat, cool supply water to ect...
now imagine someone taking that 650sqft house, tripling the sqftage and then going "hey you know that budget?!"
i love that they usually help with a years worth of mortgage payments, and this that and the other thing...but what about all the other bills.
i think they seriously need to start doing these makeovers to include more sustainable (and cheaper) forms of energy production...add a full solar set up, or a couple good windmills ect.


their hearts are in it though!
