What kind of corn would you grow if you want to use it for corn flour? Non-gmo of course.

Flint corn, dent corn, and sweet corn seem to be the different types of corn out there. I wonder exactly how you would process it to make corn flour.

Last year we grew King Hickory dent corn from Baker's Creek. My husband wanted to grind his own corn meal. The stalks were 12' tall, and I had to use a ladder to harvest some of it. It did produce well. He still hasn't ground any, so I can't tell you how good it was for that purpose.

Well, if he does grind it let me know how easy or difficult it is to do. And how it works for corn meal. Has he used it for any other purposes? I saw a bunch of varieties at Bakers Creek web site but I wasn't sure what to go with.

I finally got the cornbread made! It was very good, so I can recommend the King Hickory Dent for corn meal. For fresh eating, it was okay, but not the best I have had. I am going to use it for parched corn to see how well it works.
