Gotta check airfares-dontcha know! I know we would love to visit - but arranging care for all these animals is a pure nightmare!

It's sad that the hardest animal for me to find care for is one of my dogs! I'm not milking at the moment though... That makes a huge difference.

True dat - milking is something that ya either gotta do - or ya don't do...no in between there, lol! We went to the Caymans for 5 days and I had no one to feed for me - but my neighbors did check water. I had no itty bitty babies, I wasn't milking, nobody was due to kid soon so it worked out well. I had round bales out and we do have auto waterers (even though I like to have somebody check 'em anyway). I had auto feeders for chickens that we filled up and I knew how long each would last. So, I knew that if everything went 'ok' that no one would starve to death, lol. And, no one did! It rained a lot while we were gone so even water wasn't an issue. But, it was nerve wracking for me knowing that if a critter got hurt or sick they were on their own.

Roughly $2500 for two round trip tickets... ouch!
It's summer now, so it's expensive. Shop around, look "out of season". Look at different airlines. I can sometimes fly to the states and back from here for around $600. Special offers on flights come up :)

O.K. pics as promised… We went to Kilkenny and then to Thomastown and then to Kells, where we explored the remains of this amazing monastery. Archaeologists are restoring it, but it's going to be a long, long, slow, slow project…

Window designed for defence. Archers can shoot arrows out through the gap, but attackers cannot easily fire back.

I took this pic to show how thick these ancient walls are.. Yes, that's the remains of a wall I'm standing on there :)

Ancient grave in what I assume was the church past. The faces of it's occupants on the lid.

Another ancient grave

An abandoned and forgotten cemetery just outside the walls. It took me a second to realise the stones scattered around and under the trees were grave markers
