I am reading a book on parenting and they quoted Socrates and it made me think of this forum. I wanted to share my thoughts and tell everyone that I, too, am grateful to have found this forum and all the wonderful people on it!

" Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel. "---Socrates

Everyone on here has definitely helped kindle a flame in me and I appreciate that! I just want to say that, even though there has been some tension lately on here, I wouldn't dream of leaving.

I hope everyone stays inspired and inspiring and has a wonderful holiday season. Peace, Hope, Faith, and Love to everyone!!!

I agree, this is one of the best groups I have run into online.

The tension seems to have dissipated greatly since the moratorium on political discussions.

Or is that just my imagination?

I agree too, I love this place... everyone here inspires me to try new things everyday.

It's not just you Hikerchick, I agree the tension seems to have dissipated since the political discussions stopped :)

I guess I missed the political tension- I deliberately avoid political threads so I can think well of everyone on the BB. :D

I love this forum for the inspiration to get me over the initial hump to do new things. I would never have tried laundry detergent (well, that was BYC- but I sort of look at this as a part of that on almost), yogurt making, basket making, and now soap if I hadn't kept reading about success stories.

The guests and members online have dropped substantially, too. I guess everyone was tuning in to the action.

good quote, Lori! I always looked for teachers for DD who would get her excited about learning, kindle her interest in various subjects. The very best teachers are those who can do this.

If you WANT to discover stuff, then the knowledge just naturally comes to you (and stays with you) because you're intrigued.
