Ours just went up from $23 for a 50# bag to $28. Just wondering what everyone else is paying.

It was too much.....we will only buy when on sale now. It really shot up in price, didn't it?

I'm planting sunflowers like mad!

We bought a 50# bag on 6/17/11...$25.95 and the place we buy it from is cheaper than any place else we've found.

We're discussing growing more sunflowers for our own personal use, too.

I have about 10 growing, but gosh, there must be a zillion sunflowers in each 50 pound bag. Does anyone know how many you'd need to plant to have a years worth for 20 chickens? :gig

I think BOSS prices are very dependent on production levels, sort of like a commodity. Maybe if this year is a good growing season in the midwest, the price will go down a lot this fall. I didn't buy any last winter, but I think we paid about 9.00 for a 25 lb bag the winter before. Being new into chickens, I haven't started feeding BOSS to them yet. That 28.00 is downright scary!
