It's a really good cook book I picked up at the Library. I've copied macaroni salad, taco dip, and buttermilk chocolate cake recipes.
The most interesting recipe I'm bringing to a potluck tomorrow. It's called broccoli cornbread. You take a cornbread mix and add eggs, cottage cheese, and a box of well-drained broccoli. Sounds delicious to me; it will get its acid test tomorrow!

Sure sounds healthier than "plain" cornbread. Will you be serving it plain like cake, or with a spread like butter? How did it go over at your potluck?

I haven't had corn bread in years and your recipe sounds tasty.

I think the last cornbread I savored had jalapenos and cheese. Npt as healthy as yours, but is sure was yummy.

I didn't butter it, but that's a good idea. I served it in squares (a few minutes out of the oven. The book said that was when it was best, so I baked it there.
I got a good portion of raves from the adults. Nearly all my middle school kids asked "What was the green stuff?" and when I told them it was broccoli, they were really surprised. Might be the the way you can get broccoli down your picky eater.

I try to take desserts that have no chocolate, to pot lucks and picnics.

I can't remember the thousands of times I coudln't have dessert because no one thought about those of us who are allergic to chocolate.

Lemon bars are always good!

:) Hey there ya go! Luckily my daughter always liked broccoli, but I wasn't above suggesting she hide things like peas in her mashed potatoes so she wouldn't have to taste them. :D

I'm glad to hear that your cornbread was a hit!

Oooh, that sounds like a perfect side dish for a huge pot of chili! I've been meaning to make chili for weeks now and haven't yet. I am sitting here this morning making my menu and store list for grocery day tomorrow and I'm going to *finally* remember to buy the ingredients. Thanks! :D
