didnt' know if I should post this here or in emergency preparedness
anyhow due to the quantity of cooking I am doing and not wanting to go to the store ever again if I can help it, lol

I realize that I must use 25 and 50 lb bags of certain ingredients, (cheaper tooo)

well, I think I am going to transfer to buckets and put mylar in the buckets that I wont go through as fast,

and here is my big idea

I think I am going to sort of frame a box bench around those buckets all in a row against the dining room wall, make a pad for it and now it is my food storage, pantry bench which offers additional seating

just thought I would mention incase anyone else struggles on where to put this stuff,
my other idea was to take our kitchen island and replace with a more open design that would offer storage of two buckets tall, and as wide and deep as I needed

but that's more work:rolleyes: maybe later though

I really like your idea of building a long bench.

Out here in the boonies lots of folks have big country kitchens and no dining room. Many of the families with children have a plain old long picnic table in their kitchen for the dining table. Some have the table made with an attached bench on one side and a long cushioned bench/storage bin along one wall opposite the attached bench. Sometimes it's a little hard to get seated but that's just what we do.
