I was trying to find fermentatin locks locally and was unsuccessful.

Then my beekeeping supply catalog arrived and they carry wine and mead making supplies.

What's a fermentation lock?

Good catalog- it went right into my homesteading favorites.

It's an air lock that you add some water to. It has a bend in it so gasses can escape but nothing can get in to contaminate your wine or mead.
