I'm looking for a wood filler that will stain the same color as the wood I'm working on. I've tried everything at Home Depot but none of their "stainable" wood filler looks good. Thanks

I have found out what works for me better than anything else , I have applyed the wood putty and while it's still moist rub in the same sanded sawdust out of my sander pouch and really pack it in with the putty . This has worked well for me - if you do notice a little - not enought for anyone to notice any - try this next time ..........hope this works for you as well as it has for me :)..........MB

I like the Solvent Based FamoWood. I thin it down and then mix in some Sander dust. Make sure it's the Solvent based and not the Water based.
If you use the "Fir" on Red Oak with Oak dust mixed in, it's really hard to find the filled in spots.
