I find myself browsing the sodas whenever I'm at a store. This display is pretty cool. If you read the ingredients on the bottles most every every soda in this display is fake. Artificially flavored, colored and have ingredients unknown, unless your a scientist

Out of all the sodas in this display one soda caught my eye, so I purchased it.

The label says Natural Soda. Its in a clear bottle so they can proudly display, its clarity and the yeast bed on the bottom of the bottle, yep indeed it is natural.

The ingredients are natural also. They are proud of them also printed in large font.
Sparkling Water, Apple Cider, Pure Cane Sugar, Cinnamon Extract & Vanilla Extract.

I haven't drank any yet but what is not to love here? Plus you get a very shallow yeast bed of goodness in the bottom of the bottle, its just gotta be good.

I'm going to stick it in the refrigerator and drink it tomorrow if I like it, I may try to brew my own.

Wow, you guys have a HUGE range of sodas! We have maybe 10 in total, if you shop around. That one you bought looks and sounds amazing. Let us know how you like it when you try it!

My review for what its worth... Scale of 1 to 5 I give it a 3. The "sparkling" CO2 gassed water is what kept this from a higher score. The gas totally over powered the soda flavor. The soda flavor is that of a lightly spiced watered down apple cider vinegar and not at all like a apple pie, at least no apple pie I ever eat. There are a few little tiny pieces of apple floating in the glass, so maybe it gets better near the end. It was kind of disappointing, I was expecting something better, oh well.

Thanks for the update! People find it very amusing, but I shake and stir out the majority of gas from sodas before I drink them. I hate the taste and it burns my mouth. I often say to them look, I want to drink liquids and breathe in gas, not the other way around!

Have you ever tried Water Kefir? There are many ways to flavor it plus you can ferment it for a couple days to get natural fizz, so it's like low tech homemade soda.
My intro to kefir was from a neighbor that had homemade cherry 'soda' for her kids. Water kefir and a cup of cherry juice. It was great.

I may have to try the water kefir. That sounds good to me. The recipe I looked at had figs and lemon. Yum. Add a little tart cherry juice that I canned last summer... I love cherry soda.

Not that I'm aware of, but my aunt always had some soda natural fermenting on the counter for us kids to drink, when we would visit (I'm talking in the 70's). In all honesty its really why I'm starting to make home made drinks because of all those delicious fond memories. I just wished I had my aunt's recipes. I got my aunt's pickle and beet recipes but her sodas went to the grave with her

My kefir grains are taking a break in the frig, but I should have some to share soon. I was throwing excess away since I couldn't find a home for them. Let me know if anyone wants some. You only need a quarter cup of them to get you started. Cultures For Health site has a great section for water kefir.

Dang. It happens.
A few years ago I started making my own cookbooks with recipes that my bunch likes. Hopefully they won't be thrown out right after I kick the bucket and one of the kids will keep a few of the recipes.
