One hack is to train pets that smoke alarm = run to front door. Its not hard to do!

Good thinking! I always say my dogs will get me killed in the zombie apocalypse. The barking…. Oy the barking

I just have 2 house dogs now. Younger dog is fone, but older one is mostly blind and slow-moving.

When DS6 had a hamster, I kept a canning jar and screen lid near is cage. In case of bugout, scoop up hamster in jar, lid on and toss into backpack. Poor hamster! But I wouldnt leave a pet behind in a house fire situation if I had a chance at getting them out safely.

We have a kitten and a dog, hadn't ever thought about it.

Cat carrier is right by our bedroom door in the hallway. For the dog, put her harness on her and she would be good

If I run to the door the dogs will follow me… barking… but they’ll follow me but seriously now I’m thinking of what situations I would need to prep them for. My old dog is nearly deaf, that’s another consideration.
