Going to town is never quick🤦‍♀️
By the time we got home, put stuff away, put the roast in, it was 1:00
But I did get the weed eating done, some fence mending and mowing. Got my shower and dinner. I did not do any housework.
Now, we are watching

Back when I grew up it was every Sunday, we put on our best. My Granddad always cooked a roast.
things are so different now.

I got up at 4am,,, picking up where I left off. I'll get the light house keeping done this morning and set the table.
I made extra potatos yesterday so after church I'll just have to cook the green beans and a small salad while the lamb and potatos heat up. I will just be Grandma and Pappa today. DS's family are going out with his in-laws.

The Lord bless you
And keep you
Make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn His
Face toward you
And give you peace

May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children

May His presence go before you
And behind you, and beside you
All around you, and within you
He is with you, He is with you

In the morning, in the evening
In your coming, and your going
In your weeping, and rejoicing
He is for you, He is for you

Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen

Coffee is ready. It’s storming south of me, Houston has reported over 300 lightning strikes. Plus street flooding, they can keep it. Not storming here, I have 22 chickens left to butcher, process and get in the freezer. Today and tomorrow.
I rested Saturday, still did stuff outside, but no chicken butchering marathon. Sunday, church, Sunday afternoon I went to friends house and we had a great afternoon. This morning, finishing coffee, then headed outside to butcher chickens. 22 more, want them in the freezer by Wednesday afternoon.

I just found out that my family is planning a 40th year wedding celebration. I was asked yesterday if I would retake my vows. I laughed and said why would I do that? I haven't broken my orginal vows. To me it's just a strange thing to ask.

Anyways... I'm staying completely out of whatever they are planning. Whatever it is i'm sure will be OK. I guess a 40 year wedding anniversary shindig is a "thing"?

BIL was concerned about the weather there. He drives a chip truck over near Jasper and if it's too wet, they sink into the dirt roads. His boss texted him right as we got off the phone last night so don't think he was working today.
