I'm jealous.

That’s what I call udder relief!
On another note, I have to giggle when people spell those milk bags on any animal as “utter”
They really are good! They're a common side dish in Tex-Mex restaurants. We prefer them to refried beans.I've not heard of charo beans, so looked them up. Its a recipe and boy it sounds good!!
Busy day yesterday and today will be the same. Neurosurgeon visit yesterday morning. Told him about the intermittent recurrence of symptoms. Not really a whole lot that can be done at this point. The shunt is working and taking off excess CSF fluid, but sometimes there's a buildup that drains slowly. He doesn't want to open the shunt anymore because it can lead to other problems if too much fluid comes off. Sigh...
So its ok"ish just one ay at a time
I'm still trying to finish up garden planting. You'd think it wouldn't take much to stick some seeds in the dirt, but one thing leads to another, lol. Golden zucchini is up and looking good. Radishes are popping through. We had collards for dinner earlier this week but they are about done and starting to bolt. I'll remove those and put something in their place. Purple Dove beans are up too. I planted sweet corn and had a dismal outcome. Replanted that bed in "Souther Pea Texas Cream 40." They fall under the black-eye pea umbrella.
a few radishes have sprouted and the peas are 1/2ins, green beans are just poking through, and thats it for here
"Erect plant habit with dark green foliage with a dull luster. Flower color is white and maturity is late. 6-8"L pods are set above foliage, bunched and contain about 13 seeds per pod. Pod color at maturity is green with an orange eye and dark straw at dry stage. Constrictions are slight and curvature is slight. Seed shape is kidney; class is non-crowder with a wrinkled and smooth seed coat."
This will be my first time planting these. Hope they do well.
Tomato tent is up and working. Seems that purchased dirt isn't the best thing ever even though I layered plenty of barn gold in them. I resorted to purchasing an organic tomato fertilizer yesterday. I WILL have tomatoes this year...
Milking 3 goats daily. Working to help two of the gals ease production and taking a little less from them each day. The other gal, Poppy, will be my milker this year. She's very consistent and gives 1/2 gallon at a time. I only milk once a day so that's perfect for us. It's still too much to drink but works great for drinking, cheese and yogurt. Blackie, on the other hand is a gallon plus gal. I can't use that much milk so she'll get dried up - gently. Same with Pebbles.
Canning beans when I get a chance. We eat beans almost daily so need to keep the pantry full. I'll be doing some charro beans (DH's fave!) today.
Neighbors are out of town for the weekend so I'm taking care of their critters also. Don't mind doing it at all - but adds extra time sucking chores to my very busy days already. Got up a little earlier to be able to work that into my schedule.
Gotta get busy!
No idea - but that's probably how everything got so run down. Full-time outside jobs are only good for one thing on the farm - income!Ever wonder how in the world did you ever work all day and still run the farm?
