poor nake! but yeah, i do understand... you gotta do what you gotta do.
Definitely would if I could! As it is we didn't get nearly as much as was predicted. I'm ok with that since the prediction was for 5 - 10 inches. I haven't checked the rain gauge but I'm pretty sure we're between 2 and 3 inches total. We needed it too. Ground already had significant cracks.Wish you could send some of the rain showers to this area...
Praying for NC!!! Just way to much abnormal weather. You all need a break!Wish you could send some of the rain showers to this area... We are getting dangerously dry again... fires in parts of NC and SC and we are in the "smoke alley" from them... They keep calling for rain/showers here and we maybe get 20 sprinkles and that's it. Wouldn't be so bad but we have had constant and continuous winds.. more than many of us have ever remembered this much all through the winter... We normally have a burn ban before 4 p.m. our wind patterns change in the evenings so burning after 4 is normally allowed... Several days they have declared a 24 hr burn ban due to the high wind gusts and the dry ground conditions.
That area of NC around Asheville that got devastated in the floods, is now having to deal with wildfires...
its 36 here this morning, I cant plant tomatoes until May--More coffee always helpsIts been a busy few days. Appt with DH's sleep doc. Have to see him once a year so ins will continue to cover C-pap supplies. Next week he has a CT scan on his head, again. Then we see the neurosurgeon the following week for a follow-up.
Got the screen house closed in and tomatoes planted! I found a bunch volunteer 'maters in the worm bin so I utilized those. I've got nothing against freebies, lol. I think those are a cherry type tomato. The rest are Cherokee Purples, Mr. Stripey and a couple of Patios. I need to re-start DH's hot peppers. I've got a couple of bell pepper plants that I need to get in the ground. Time to start on the rest of the garden. I've concentrated on the screen house and haven't done any other gardening. Feel like I'm late!
If it's not too windy today I'm going to try to get a new roof on a goat shelter. Thankfully, this is a goat sized shelter, not a barn. It's only about 4 feet tall. I've got the sheet metal. Been waiting on a day where the metal wouldn't take flight with me attached to it. Wind has been serious lately.
Might need one more cup of coffee then I've gotta get busy.
