My truck is officially dead. So, now we have to find another one. Wish hubby would have let me look a couple of months ago. Found one I really liked, but he wasn't interested.
Well, it's finally dried out. Of course, when I plan to go to the hay auction, it will probably rain. If it does, I think I'm just going to buy it from a farmer. I may pay more, but at least I know I'll have it. And, my truck broke down again yesterday and had to get towed-for the 3rd time...
Got soaked on Tuesday! I was cleaning my field, and was almost done when it started to pour! I covered my spreader, put away my mower and went home. But, even though I covered the spreader, I still couldn't spread. I ended up dumping it all. Maybe next week.
I had wanted to get all my hay in early. But, my truck kept breaking down and it was so hot for awhile that I wasn't up to getting it. Now, it won't stop raining! Every time I plan on going to the auction, it rains!
I've also barely spread manure this year. My spreader won't spread it if...
Thanks! I'm keeping an eye on the forecast. They keep changing it.
Canoeing was good-even though Callie did jump out 2x. I have been to this lake in the past, and was never able to get very far upstream because of beavers. Well, we went quite a distance. And, my wrist didn't hurt! So...
The brace is off my wrist! I am not limited as to what I can do, but I'm also going to ease myself back into stuff as slowly as possible. Of course, so stuff has to be done regardless. I still need 75 bales of hay and since I buy that at auction, I can't really ease into loading it and...
I had started getting cleaned up B4 and needed to get rid of stuff so I could have more room. But, every time I had time to go to the thrift store, something happened. Now I have even more!
Just a quick update.
I did quit working the beginning of June, and I have gotten some stuff done. But, my truck keeps breaking down which means I have to take hubby to work.
We had a leaking pipe in the basement the end of May. I'm still working on getting that cleaned up. I had boxes of...
That's why I try to have young hens going into winter. I have very few days, if any, when I don't get eggs. So, I normally still have fresh eggs all year long.
Finally had a chance to get my garden planted. Between the weather, working and having a flood in my basement, I'm way behind. Never got in early stuff, so I may try for a fall crop of some of it.
Best thing I've found for cleaning out a stove is a mason's trowel. That pointed end is great for getting in places a shovel can't, plus it's much shorter, so it's easier to maneuver. The only time I'll use a vacuum on mine is when it's completely cool.
Actually, the weather in the area I would like to move to would be in zone 6. We're in zone 7 here. I'd rather have it a bit cooler rather than warmer. Hubby was thinking Tennessee. I don't think I could handle it.
Been really busy. But, I'm done work June 1st-at least for the summer. I told EH if she wants me in the fall, I'll come in for no more than 2 mornings a week. I'm not working this summer unless someone calls me to teach a nature lesson. Instead, I plan on spending the time getting my house...
