I have a brand new fridge! Im so happy, having lived with a tiny malfunctioning bar fridge for years, this new fridge is a dream. It even has a light inside! Now I can expand growing garden grub a bit as I have somewhere to store it :)
Kinda happy to be finished with visitors for a while now...
Yep the digging of holes is what made me say no more chickens in my garden! The ducks are better at eating snails and their paddle pools water the trees :D win, win win - and no rolled ankles in new holes!
I like the internet. Ive been a member of many international forums and enjoy learning things from across the globe. Many in my age group stopped at facebook so are easily fed and limited to the bubbles they created there. Its nice to go on orderly forums and see more than just regurgitation and...
Did more in the garden today than I have in weeks!
Moved the garden bed that my neighbour made me to a winter spot. Now to fill it and figure out what to put in my winter veg bed!
I got stuck into an overgrown bush and chopped the middle out of it. Could do with some minor pruning now but I...
Good luck in treating her. I have no ideas on this one.
One of my hens started crowing, she was an outcast from the get go and got special treatment from me, so I assumed thats why she decided to "rule the roost". She died not too long after her crowing started unfortunately, I found it cute...
We get fined for not voting here. I expect my fine in the mail any day now. The state election was just recently and labour won in an absolute landslide. The way our Premier handled the pandemic is to be applauded, regardless of my disinterest in politics. The closed boarders and short but...
I only know about the cyber attack on a live commercial news/breakfast show on channel 9. The breakfast show went off air for a while and the channel resumed programming outside of live broadcasts. Not sure what happened behind the scenes.
We really only have 5 major national tv news channels...
I play any instrument I can get my hands on!
Right now I play a plug in keyboard :P but I will be playing the piano once it is here :D It was my sisters, but she lives over east now and mum needs the space, so I'll happily take it! I took the guitar last visit :p
cup of soup for tea tonight...
Its been freed and refloated now. I only learned of it in the first place because of the memes 🤣 it barely made news waves here until tonight, after being moved. I guess because it barely affected anything in Australia. I didnt even know what the suez canal was!
Send some rain my way! Dry and very hot here. 100F outside right now, my plants are wilting. Good weather to get washing dry quick, but I brought a huge grasshopper in with it.
I have just sat down with a cold milo to watch the news and browse the ikea site. My mum is bringing a trailer down...
Allergic to babies 😆
2 of the visitors were allergic to the hay/rabbits that I have in the house. They did ok though once out of the bunnies room. Was a nice time, now to keep the place clean til the next round of visitors next weekend!
Been vacuuming today in prep for some visitors tonight. I have not been well since the kittens so I am glad to have an excuse to get pizza and chill out with some mates.
Feels like autumn here already. Lovely cloud cover and temps in the mid 20's. Its great garden working weather! Heaps of flowers, fruit and veggies going well :)
I had a really bad weekend last weekend. The neighbours across the highway let their unsterilized cats roam the streets. I found 3 kittens stuck behind my pond. One one in a pipe, another in a bucket and the last was dozey enough for me to just pick up without a hiss. I found them at midnight on...
Saucy chilli chinese stir fry with zoodles. Used zuchinni and lime from my garden and chives from my friends garden :)
Apples and apricots (from my friends tree) with cheese later for a snack.
I think watermelon prefer slightly acidic soils as they grow well at my place and thats what I've got! They like to grow on a mound too in my experience. Goodluck :)
Moved the ducks the new run today. They arnt sure about it yet. I hope the fences stay up in this sudden wind after a very hot and dry day. It looks a bit like its held together with toothpicks since I couldn't drive the bamboo stakes very far into the hard summer ground. Its only meant to be...
Petrol is really going up here too. I paid $1.24 a litre last top up and its predicted to reach $1.60 a litre by next month.
Feed went up last year. Hay jumped from $10 a square bale to $15!! So I switched to compressed bales, much better quality for not much more at $18 a bale. Duck feed went...
